My Practically Perfect Family Holiday

What makes my perfect holiday?

Ask any of my friends and they’ll soon say they know how much I treasure spending quality time with my nearest and dearest… and when I say quality time I don’t mean just a quick catch-up with coffee and cake…although that’s also very pleasant too!

For me quality time means a total unshackling from work commitments, blissful freedom from the normal constraints of family life and a complete abandonment of social media.

okay, to be truthful I’m not quite ready to ditch my iPhone just yet!

Our practically perfect family holiday begins at the very beginning…

When choosing our holiday resort or destination we specifically look for  –

  • Resorts with class
  • Family friendly entertainment
  • Restaurants with flair
  • New and exciting experiences
  • & more than a fair chance of decent weather!

Although I’m a self confessed planning addict, I am in fact a lazy package holiday purchaser.

This means our family holidays begin by utilising a user friendly travel company website which contains all the necessary information in one idiot proof and easy to digest site.

Once our practically perfect family holiday reservation is secured – the real business of planning begins!

As I previously mentioned, I can’t help myself but to plan our family holidays right down to the very last detail and I almost always purchase an independent travel guide  featuring our journeys end or at the very least undertake some internet research about our desired destination.

Sometimes it’s even fun to check out online forums where other like-minded travellers share their experiences – positive or otherwise!

“So” you ask… “Where indeed have you found holiday nirvana?”

Over the years we’ve been so very fortunate to have thoroughly enjoyed experiencing wonderful holidays with our larger than average family of 6 and it goes without saying that Walt Disney World Resort comes out top as our practically perfect family holiday destination!

Cinderella Castle

Cinderella Castle

Apart from the obvious Disney enchantment, fabulously themed Disney resorts and restaurants with their multitude of dedicated Cast Members plus the almost ever present, year round sunshine…

We love that it’s possible to begin each Disney day by scoffing Mickey shaped waffles with a side order of happy hugs from everyone’s favourite Mouse before going on to conquer before lunch – Space, Thunder and Splash Mountains.

Afternoon adventures continue by escaping the fabled yeti or even time travelling with a dinosaur and at days end it’s pure bliss to meander around 11 countries before rewarding your international travels with traditional British fish & chip supper!

As twilight beckons it’s time to grab a tasty little smackerel of something before settling back to experience the sky illuminated with the most stunning fireworks display you’re ever likely to be entertained by!

I know it sounds corny, but we’ve truly created some unforgettable family memories at Walt Disney World Resort all of which are sure to last us an entire lifetime.

Our Disney holidays have provided precious time for each other plus afforded my husband and I the perfect environment to indulge our children and do everything together with them as a family.

In November 2013 all my previous practically perfect family holiday planning experience helped toward little ol’ me being selected from many thousands of hopeful applicants to represent the whole of the United Kingdom as a Disney Parks Moms Panelist specialising in assisting Guests from all over the world with their trips to Walt Disney World Resort.

Now I’d relish the opportunity to share all my family travel and planning expertise with yet another wonderful company – Mark Warner Holidays

Your family holiday at Disney World sounds amazing:) I lived in Orlando for a year just off International Drive and then Savannah, Georgia for three years so I have visited frequently BUT the Disney Magic gets stronger each and every time I visit. The last time we took our son who was nearly one at the time, it was an incredible holiday! Good luck with the Mark Warner holidays competition:) #TotsTravel

Oh lucky you living so close to the magic – One of my dreams is to live out my golden yEars living in Orlando & perhaps working for Disney… 😊
